HISTORICAL RETROFIT

THE OLDEST HOUSE IN LAKEWOOD You don’t have to suffer discomfort in your home and high utility bills. The efficiency of most every home can be improved in an economic manner. Berry Insulation was selected by the Lakewood Historical Society to retrofit what they have determined to be the oldest house in Lakewood (built in 1850’s). The building is used as an office and resource center. High utility bills and unbearable drafts were the norm. It was a tough life in those days.

RESULTS We installed a complete air sealing package and (carefully) removed the siding and insulated the 150 + year old sidewalls with dense packed cellulose. We also increased the attic insulation and installed a complete air-sealing package. Problem solved! Thanks to our friends at Scallish Construction who partnered with us on this project.
